Detail description of solved problem
City Hamiltom employes aproximately 9000 public employers. Hiring system of city wasn´t effective and the city wasn´t able to attract the most demanded, talented and experienced candidates. System of processing of application forms and preparing of answers was slow, a required huge amount of labour, and was administrative difficult.
Detail description of strategy of sollution
City Hamilton decided to solve this problem by application of software system, which should have remove shortcomings of original system, decrease the total demand of labour of Human resouces department, which can solve more important tasks, or to solve actual tasks with lower number of employees.
Description of results of sollution
City Hamilton in cooperation with firm Deloitte&Touch Canada developed integrated software systems for Human resourced department. System enables to search jobs on line, to file applications, up-to-date status of application and confirm employees referral. Employees of HR department can quickly create queries that automatically identify the best applicants. The system also guarantee more transparent procedure of selecting of applicants. The system also contains information about actual employees of city and enbles to employees to check their personal files and execute the changes of their personal data (for example on line check of idle holiday, or provide on-line attention to employer about the change of registered adress). Self – service employees systems weren´t used in Canada before, but the most of staff of the city is satisfied with this system.
